Middlefield Campus web pages have been moved to a new server at http://hub.foothill.edu. Students and staff can access the new Middlefield website from outside of campus to find information about the Open Lab, look up their login details, read walkthroughs for common tasks, and see a listing of the software they can use. Anyone at Middlefield Campus can report a technology problem by clicking "Report a problem" on the Hub homepage or going to http://mcsupport.foothill.edu.
This website is temporary. The current content will stay online and the links above will continue to work, but we will be rolling out a permanent version with a new design during Spring quarter.
A new Ghost server has been set up to speed up imaging of our PCs.
VMware Fusion has been added to the system image for the Macs in I-2 and a separate account has been created for students in Travel Careers. Logging in with username tc and password tc will launch Fusion automatically, and the Travel Careers virtual machine will open http://my.sabre.com in IE when the student logs in. These changes were designed to make accessing MySabre from OS X as simple as possible.
French Rosetta Stone has been added to the list of languages available in Rosetta Stone Server.
The dual-boot Macs in J3 have been updated. A list of the available software available for the Mac side is here, and one for the PC side is here.
An emergency account has been added to our PCs. If the main Middlefield domain goes down or the middlefield account is not available, students can log in to the local machine with username mc and password mc. Please note that printing won't be possible if the Middlefield domain goes down.
The Dell mobile lab based in I-3 is now protected against physical theft. If any of the laptops is stolen, the new security software will allow us to track it down.
The Macbooks in J-3 are now protected by software that will let us recover a stolen computer.
If you find a missing machine, please report it to Michael Almasi.
Another print server has been installed as a backup in the Hub and a new HP newtwork printer has been set up in I-11 as a backup for our older printer.
To save the district money and do our part to keep the campus green, we've configured the computers in the Hub to shut down automatically at 10:05 PM and come online at 9:00 AM. In order to extend the life of our laptops in J3 and I3 the machines turn on automatically at 4:30 PM before the class starts and shut off automatically at 10:10 PM every night.
